It is in line with two other European projects led by AViTeM to make the behavioral approach a lever for tourism sustainability&nbsp;: the Erasmus+ projects <a href=\"https:\/\/avitem.fr\/best-avitem-tourisme-durable\"><em>Best<\/em><\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/avitem.fr\/nudge-my-tour\"><em>Nudge My Tour<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">For a total duration of <strong><u>three-year<\/u><\/strong>First Mile involves <strong><u>6 partners from 5 countries<\/u><\/strong> :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>AITR, association for responsible tourism (Italy),<\/li>\n<li>BehaviorSMART, a firm of experts in behavioral sciences &amp; sustainable development (Bulgaria),<\/li>\n<li>MIMIR, a firm specialized in the accompaniment of SMEs &amp; tourist destinations (Norway),<\/li>\n<li>Tourist Office of Bohinj (Slovenia),<\/li>\n<li>Open Tourisme Lab, tourism innovation platform (France),<\/li>\n<li>AViTeM, project leader.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">First Mile will apply scientific research on human behavior to tourism. Objective&nbsp;: to <strong>create <u>innovative solutions<\/u> to move towards sustainable development for SMEs in the sector<\/strong>, whether they are specialized in accommodation (hotels, campsites, etc.), food (restaurants, bars, etc.) or other services (tour operators, online agencies, etc.).  <span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Several <u>priorities<\/u> have been set&nbsp;:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Encourage local purchases,<\/li>\n<li>Reduce waste and the use of plastic,<\/li>\n<li>Optimize water and energy use,<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the carbon footprint, and more broadly, the negative impact on nature,<\/li>\n<li>Promote local cultures,<\/li>\n<li>Create stable jobs for youth and women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">In order to achieve these objectives, the project partners will offer <strong>personalized support to more than 80 SMEs in 4 countries&nbsp;: France, Italy, Norway and Slovenia<\/strong>. A call will be launched in the fall of 2023 to select this panel of companies.
