gathered in Lisbon for a co-production exercise about <strong>urban heat<\/strong> and<strong> sustainable tourism<\/strong>, as part of the project&#8217;s steering committee.<\/p><p>An event organised by AVITEM and the C\u00e2mara Municipal de Lisboa with the invaluable support and contribution of the Dire\u00e7\u00e3o Municipal do Ambiente, Estrutura Verde, Clima e Energia &#8211; Departamento de Ambiente, Energia e Altera\u00e7\u00f5es Clim\u00e1ticas &#8211; Divis\u00e3o do Ambiente e Energia.<\/p><h3>A leverage project on climate adaptation and sustainable tourism<\/h3><p>With heatwaves expected to increase by 50% by 2050, it is urgent to adapt touristic cities to the changing climate and evolving needs of both visitors and communities.<\/p><p>Cool Noons is a concrete initiative, uniting a strong partnership to test and implement urban cooling solutions, fostering synergies and complementary approaches to combat urban overheating effectively.<\/p><p>A project embedded in a larger reflection on how to mitigate heatwave effects and make our Mediterranean cities more livable:<\/p><ul><li>Integrating cooling strategies into urban
