SeTe: Developing water resource governance tools to cope better with drought

Summer 2022 was marked by a severe drought that led to a widespread water shortage. The French-Italian cross-border Alpine region was particularly hard hit by this phenomenon. Knowing that these events will be repeated, how can we cope with future water shortages?

The SeTe project tries to provide solutions, through a partnership of 7 French and Italian institutions, co-financed by the European Union. Nature-based solutions will be tested in different pilot sites, enabling the project’s experts to develop governance tools. This territorialized, integrated and inclusive approach will involve and raise awareness among local players such as administrations, political decision-makers and citizens.
