Giulia DAVID

Giulia David has been a European Project Officer in the AViTeM Cooperation Cluster since April 2019.

Biography

Originaire de Turin (Italie), Giulia David est chargée de projets européens au sein du Pôle Coopération de l’AViTeM depuis avril 2019.
Before joining AViTeM, she lived in several countries for both work and study.
Between 2018 and 2019 she was a communication officer at the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Italy-France Maritime Program, in Florence. She accompanied the project leaders in their communication and dissemination activities, and was in charge of capitalizing on the results of the program.
Between 2016 and 2018 she lived in Brussels: within the NGO CBM, she coordinated the revision of International Standards on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities and Older Persons in Humanitarian Action. This led her to organize and facilitate consultation workshops in Geneva, London, Amman, Nairobi, Washington, Port-au-Prince and Islamabad, and then to coordinate the rewriting of the standards.
Entre 2014 et 2016 elle a vécu à Tunis, où elle était chargée de programme au sein de l’UNICEF. She was in charge of the follow-up of projects in the field of inclusive education and disability statistics. She was also the Disability Focal Point for the UNICEF office in Tunisia and coordinated the United Nations Partnership for Disability Rights in Tunisia.
In 2013 she was in charge of partnerships and fundraising for the Parent Project association, in its Turin branch. In the same year, she worked as a citizenship education officer for the NGO CICSENE in Turin, where she designed and facilitated non-formal education activities in local elementary school on the theme of migration.
In 2012, Giulia obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages (English and Arabic) in Humanitarian and Cultural Development Project Management at the University of Aix-Marseille. This Master gave her the opportunity to do a five-month internship in Algiers, within the network of women artisans Res’Art.
Before that, she obtained a degree in foreign languages (French and Arabic) at the University of Turin, during which she did an Erasmus exchange in Clermont-Ferrand. In parallel to her work as a project manager, Giulia practices graphic recordingwhich consists in translating the content of conferences, events or webinars into drawings in real time.
