The SeTe project addresses this need through a partnership of 7 French and Italian institutions, co-financed by the European Union. Nature-based solutions will be tested at various pilot sites, enabling project experts to develop governance tools. This territorial, integrated, and inclusive approach ensures the involvement and awareness of local stakeholders—such as administrations, political decision-makers, and citizens.
ALCOTRA Priority: 2. Improve knowledge of the territory to address the environmental challenges of the ALCOTRA area.
Specific ALCOTRA Objective: 2.7. Strengthen the protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity, and green infrastructure—including in urban areas—and reduce all forms of pollution.
The SeTe project is implemented with the contribution of the European Union under the Interreg VI-A France-Italy ALCOTRA 2021-2027 program. It is 80% funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and 20% by public and/or private co-financing.
Total SeTe Project Budget: €2,795,551.00, including €2,236,440.80 from the ERDF and €559,110.20 from co-financing.

The project in brief
Summer 2022 was marked by a severe drought that led to a widespread water shortage. The French-Italian cross-border Alpine region was particularly hard hit by this phenomenon. Knowing that these events will be repeated, how can we cope with future water shortages?
The project brings together 8 partners in Italy and France.
