Philippe Meunier, new Director General of the Agency for Sustainable Mediterranean Cities and Territories (AViTeM) article March 2021
Philippe Meunier has just been appointed by the Board of the GIP AViTeM as Director General of the Agency for Sustainable Mediterranean Cities and Territories.
He succeeds Ambassador Bernard Valero, whose term expires on February 28, 2021.
It has worked closely with various non-governmental actors, including cities, territories, civil society, the private sector and foundations.
As Deputy Director General for Globalization, Development and Partnerships from 2009 to 2011, Philippe Meunier contributed to the configuration and management of this new Directorate General in charge of global issues within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Philippe Meunier headed the Cabinet of the Minister in charge of Cooperation and Francophonie from 2000 to 2002. It has thus contributed to better articulate our diplomatic, European and development actions. From 1993 to 1997, he was an advisor at the French Representation to the European Union in Brussels.
Throughout his career, he has carried out missions in countries around the Mediterranean.
Philippe Meunier is a former student of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration and a graduate of the Institut d’études politiques de Paris.
