Launch of the CEFoodCycle project on circularity in food chains
Food waste, packaging, wrapping and distances traveled are all issues that need to be taken into account in order to incorporate more circularity in the food chain, especially in the hospitality sector.
This is why AViTeM is involved in the CEFoodCycle project, alongside the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and 8 other partners from the Euro-Mediterranean/Alpine area (Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Germany), and took part in the launch event organized on February 7 and 8 by the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in its buildings.
CEFoodCycle, co-financed by the European Commission’s Interreg Alpine Space program, aims to address the issues of food waste, packaging and reuse by developing a digital service using artificial intelligence to connect actors within and outside the food industry. The project will help them to identify potential resource andCO2 savings and optimizations, and to strengthen sustainable and circular economic competitiveness in the Alps.
Within a balanced partnership between technicians, researchers, business support organizations and communities, AViTeM, beyond its contribution to the collaborative work of data collection and analysis on the French pilot territory (mainly Alpes-Maritimes), will ensure the following missions:
– Piloting a qualitative behavioral study on the supply / distribution / waste management choices of targeted French players.
– Coordination of the exchange of experience between pilot actors and decision makers.
– Promotion of the experience and the tool developed, via video and brochure.
